Cascade Relief Team On KGW News!
Though our KGW-TV story was centered around the current Otis Volunteer Cleanup Project, Christelle Koumoué KGW touched on how Cascade Relief Team started out evacuating animals.
This is a picture featured on the news story that was of one our best volunteer drivers trucks.
This picture was taken when we had 8 loads of hay going from Columbia County to Okanagan! Our drivers were continuously running hay to provide feed for over 8000 head of cattle that were, for weeks on the verge or running out of food completely.
Volunteer Driver Angelsea is one of the best drivers you will ever come into contact with. She had a month of over 7000 miles driven! She was always first in, first out, and first to reload.
Even when her truck broke down on the way to Washington she had a friend pick her up and still deliver the load. I remember she made it to southern Oregon and back and reloaded and was on her way back down about an hour ahead of the convoy..I remember finding out she already made a trip the night before when she was on her way back the second trip.
She said in a message " I'm trying to show this world how to walk the walk not just talk the talk. A good life comes from hard work and helping radiotherapy out when we need it. I am! I've got a small farm and a couple teenagers and I'm a single mama so I gotta stick as close as I can so I come home after every trip to Astoria"
She is one of the many incredible drivers that we are blessed to have volunteer
Thank you to Angelsea and the other amazing drivers who dropped everything on a whim to help.
